Project IMPACT
The goals of the peer-led harm reduction sites are to provide individuals with substance use disorders and their families with:
- Overdose prevention and harm reduction education and resources
- Accessible and immediate support
- Flexible and non-judgmental care
- A safe place to talk with a peer with lived experience
- Information about treatment options and other local services
- Guidance, clear explanation, and real life understanding about treatment admission and discharge processes
*please note that these harm reduction sites are NOT safe-site-injection or needle exchange sites.
- Establishing peer-led harm reduction sites
- Offering harm reduction strategies
- Providing harm reduction and overdose prevention resources
The Project IMPACT Harm Reduction Pledge
We pledge as a caring community partner to be knowledgeable about harm reduction techniques.
We pledge to treat people with substance use disorder (SUD) with dignity and respect.
We pledge to address addiction as a public health issue.
We pledge to work in our communities to prevent overdoses.
We pledge to educate our community members on harm reduction and overdose prevention methods.
We pledge to support loved ones and family members of individuals with SUD.
We pledge to use Project Impact, funded by the MA Attorney General’s Office and the GE Foundation, as a valuable resource.
